My local shopping centre is named Sainsbury’s. It’s a large grocery chain in the United Kingdom and there is usually one located on every few blocks. The one closest to me is only a few minutes walk away, a few streets down. I typically shop there every other day because I can never carry enough bags back home to last me for more than a few days a time. I usually shop there for your basic groceries that include vegetables, sweets, juice, bread, pasta and other cooking materials. I don’t eat a lot of meat, but when I do, I actually go to a small butcher’s shop that’s right next to Sainsbury’s. They have really good prices and I’m pretty sure their meat is local. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, outside of Sainsbury’s, a man comes with his food truck and sells pizzas and calzones. And on the weekends, there is a little old lady who sells fresh bread, eggs and a few vegetables from her garden. That is so nice to have as a second option, and her prices are actually lower than in the store! But, Sainsbury’s is still very affordable and very convenient as it always has the same products in every location so I always know what I’m going to be shopping for and how much it costs. The one near my house has many features to make it a one-stop shop on my way home. It has a clothing and entertainment section, a bakery, a hardware and gardening area, a cafe and a pharmacy where I pick up my prescriptions quickly.
